Flat & Low-Slope Roofing in Kansas City

Flat roofs are their own trade, and most shingle crews should not be on one. Braden Roofing has been installing residential and commercial low-slope systems for decades — TPO single-ply, Dec-Tec and Dectek walkable membranes, and torch-down modified bitumen — on additions, porches, dormers, mansards and full flat-roofed homes across Kansas City.

Drainage comes before membrane. We build tapered insulation so the field actually falls toward the drain or scupper instead of ponding in the middle, and we detail the hard parts properly: chimney flashings spliced and secured into both the masonry and the roof, termination bar at the walls, and heat stack base flashings sealed from both the top and the bottom so water cannot get behind them.

TPO is a state-of-the-art product with roughly 85% reflectivity, which saves property owners real money on air conditioning through a Kansas City summer. Dec-Tec is our choice where you want to walk on the roof — a rooftop patio or deck — because the surface is lightly embossed for traction and reflective enough to stay comfortable on the hottest summer days.

We publish The Home Owner’s Guide to Dec-k-ing and Dectek Custom Flatroofs and The Home Owner’s Guide to TPO Flatroofs for homeowners who want to understand the options before they decide. Ask for either one, or call (913) 341-0200 and we will come look at the roof and give you a free estimate. All flat work is fully insured and warrantied.
